AE 308 Curriculum Design in Art Education


(4 Credits)
This comprehensive course is designed for students who are preparing to teach art K-12. The course explores the philosophy, psychology and literature of art education as the basis for developing, instructing and evaluating art. Curriculum writing and lesson planning will be intertwined throughout the course. Students have the opportunity to develop and model a lesson for their peers. A field experience is included and provides students with the opportunity to practice and apply the skills that they are acquiring. Registration required for the accompanying lab, AE308L in the same semester. Field experiences required. See background check requirement policy.

Prerequisite: ED 110  /ED110L, ED 212  /ED212L, ED 306 , ED 315 , and application to pre-student teaching; or permission of the instructor.
