About the Minor
The Economics minor at Arcadia University is designed to complement both business and non-business majors by providing students with a strong foundation in economic theory, quantitative analysis, and critical thinking. The program equips students with the tools to understand and analyze the complex economic forces shaping the world today.
Through coursework in both microeconomics and macroeconomics, along with specialized electives, students develop analytical and problem-solving skills that are applicable across a wide range of industries and disciplines. The minor emphasizes rigorous, evidence-based thinking, specially, the skills that are highly valued in today’s competitive job market.
The program is especially beneficial for students pursuing majors in the School of Global Business, as well as those studying political science, international studies, actuarial science, computer science, public health, and other liberal arts disciplines, who seek a deeper understanding of economic principles.
To fulfill the requirements for a minor in Economics, students must successfully complete six approved Economics courses, including Principles of Microeconomics and Principles of Macroeconomics.

Graduates are well-positioned to pursue graduate study in fields such as economics, finance, public policy, public administration, international business, and business administration (MBA programs).
