CM 319 Writing for Television

(4 Credits)
Practice and principles of writing for television. General and specific principles of writing for different formats with consideration of audiences, scope of the medium, and creative freedom in the production process. Course will compare and analyze different TV genres and their formats, as well as produce television scripts and their final products on the small screen. The course is designed to be an all-encompassing simulation of what a typical television writer will encounter when hired on a real working, weekly television show.
