The Gender and Sexuality Studies program provides an in-depth study of gender, sexuality, and women’s issues through the lens of multiple disciplines. The program offers students a unique opportunity to explore their interests broadly in understanding the changing meaning of constructions of gender and sexuality and to apply feminist methodologies and frameworks to making sense of the current moment. Through coursework in both the social sciences and humanities, students develop critical tools for working toward social justice and social transformation. The major provide students with the opportunity to focus on the intersections of gender and sexuality with race, class, nationality, ethnicity, religion, and ability.
