About the Minor
Open to all majors. The minor in Scientific Illustration introduces students to the techniques and methods of Scientific Illustration. This minor offers students hands-on learning in a well-respected, innovative Biology Department and comprehensive studio art courses covering traditional and digital illustration techniques. Art majors who complete the minor in Scientific Illustration will enjoy diversifying their art portfolios. Science majors who complete this Minor will produce more competent illustrations in conjunction with their scientific research, and will have a greater ability to visualize scientific concepts and subject matter to enhance their graduate school applications.
Requirements
The minor consists of classes totaling 22 credits. Students who want to minor in Scientific Illustration should consult with the Department of Art and Design Chair. Students majoring in Scientific Illustration are ineligible to minor in Scientific Illustration; 50% of the courses representing the minor must be completed in the Department.
Two Biology courses (8 credits)
