Sociology, Minor

About the Minor

The minor in Sociology provides an opportunity for students majoring in fields such as Criminal Justice and Criminology, Business, Media & Communications, Education, Political Science, Pre-Law, Pre-Physical Therapy and Psychology to select courses that will provide them with sociological and anthropological theory and research findings useful to their careers and enriching to their lives in the liberal arts tradition.

Requirements

(17–20 credits as listed below)

Two Sociology Courses

SO 101 Introductory Sociology (4 Credits)
SO 284 Foundations of Social Theory (4 Credits) or
SO 370 Feminist Theory (4 Credits)

Electives

Three electives in Sociology or two electives in Sociology and one in Anthropology, chosen in consultation with the Department and based on the individual’s interests and needs.
