About the Program

Undergraduate students enrolled in the fall of their junior year are invited to apply to the early entry master’s program with Arcadia University’s School of Education.

Students in the early entry master’s program are required to complete 125 undergraduate credits for graduation, which allows for at least one graduate course to be completed as an undergraduate student. Credits do not “double count” and are assigned to either the graduate or undergraduate degree record. Your adviser will share options to complete the program within 5 years, or over a longer period of time.

Students choosing this option graduate after four years of undergraduate study with a Bachelor of Arts degree in an Education degree program and complete their graduate program requirements as a graduate student in their fifth year. Upon completion of the fifth-year requirements, students graduate with a Master of Education degree in a selected area of concentration.

Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education Concentrations

See Education section of graduate catalog for required courses.

  • M.Ed. with Concentration in Special Education with certification path for Special Education PreK-8 or Special Education 7-12

In order to complete the program in five years, students may begin to take graduate courses during the fourth year of their undergraduate program. Additionally, they are required to enroll in courses during the summer between the fourth and fifth years of the program. Courses will be chosen in consultation with the student’s adviser.
