About the Certificate
The program is designed to develop practitioner-leaders who have advanced training in working with infants and toddlers and their families. The certificate program supports development of healthy socio-emotional development, prevention and intervention efforts to address mental and behavioral health issues in early childhood to reduce significant personal and social difficulties in later childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. This program is designed for mental health, special education, child welfare, and social service providers; childcare providers; home visitors; teachers; and health care professionals. It is also suitable for directors of early childhood education centers and other supervisors of these direct-service providers. This certificate program uses in-class and field-based learning to develop expertise in promoting infant-toddler mental health.

Note: All students completing a graduate Education certificate or other non-degree program are required to submit an AU Graduate Program (non-degree) Completion form to the Office of Graduate Studies.
