IS 140 Purpose, Power and Possibilities: An Integrative Seminar (2 Credits) This two credit course engages students in discussions and activities that will draw on and integrate student experiences in and out of the classroom during their time at Arcadia. The course will focus on three questions: What is your purpose and the purpose of your education in shaping your life’s work? What power do you have as a change agent now and after you graduate? What possibilities does your education open up for you to work as a change agent? Students in the Arts and Global Change are required to take the course at least twice—once in their first year and once in their senior year. The course is also open to students in any major and is appropriate for seniors, first year students and everyone in between. Students will be required to attend a class meeting approximately every other week, respond to weekly discussion board prompts in written, audio or video form, and regularly attend intellectual and arts events on and off campus.
