PY 242 Experimental Psychology I

(4 Credits)
This course is designed to expose students to basic research practices commonly used in non-human and human psychological research. Students will learn how to read and evaluate primary literature, incorporate information from multiple sources, and apply that knowledge to their own research proposal. Students will obtain hands-on experience collecting data from subjects and developing their writing and communication skills. This course includes lectures, class discussions, team projects, and experiential activities. This course requires attendance and participation as many weeks involve in-person data collection and development of team projects. This course is typically taken by sophomore psychology majors.
