AH 222 Early Renaissance Art

This course explores Renaissance art in Western Europe from the 14th to 16th centuries, with a focus on the revival of the classical past, changes in artistic status, gender roles, and the advent of the Protestant Reformation. Artists may include Giotto, Masaccio, Donatello, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, and Michelangelo. Field trips to the Philadelphia Museum of Art to study the Renaissance collections are included.
