About the Program
The Bachelor of Science in Applied Health Sciences (BSAHS) is an online asynchronous degree completion program that provides a pathway for students seeking to advance their careers in healthcare by leveraging external coursework including previous study completed at the bachelor or associate degree level. The program is online and asynchronous with at least one required synchronous check-in per course with the professor and at least one per semester for program support. More check-ins might be required as perceived by the student or the program. The applied and culminating experiences will have the potential to meld with work experience in ways that expand skills and understanding. The mission of the program is to support students’ academic and professional growth while offering flexibility that aligns with their personal and professional responsibilities. By requiring Arcadia courses in public health and health sciences, students will be immersed in programming aligned with Arcadia’s lived values, including social justice in health. Applicants must transfer a minimum of 57 credits, including foundational coursework in general chemistry, general biology, anatomy, physiology, and statistics. Once enrolled, students will further develop their knowledge through 64 credits of core major coursework in health sciences and public health. At least 32 of the core major credits must be completed at Arcadia University to fulfill requirements and earn an Arcadia degree. A total (including transferred coursework) of 120 credits is required to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Health Sciences. In addition to transferred coursework and core major requirements, students will need to complete components of the Arcadia Undergraduate Curriculum (AUC) to be eligible for graduation. In collaboration with Enrollment Management and their assigned academic advisor, AUC requirements may be satisfied through transferred coursework or deemed fulfilled based on prior academic work and relevant professional experience.
