Our Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity program effectively blends academic theory and industry practice with widely utilized cybersecurity credentials during your studies at Arcadia. This program is the first of its kind (and so far, the only) residential program in the nation that integrates five industry-recognized certifications directly into your degree, including training, hands-on simulations and practice, exam vouchers, expert and academic mentorship, and foundation courses. The certifications do not come as an add-on, but rather are built into your education from day one. You will earn credentials that will set you apart in the cybersecurity job market: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, CySA+, and ISC2 CISSP**.

Each certification course you take is included in the tuition. You will be enrolled in a 4-credit wrapper course that provides mentorship and in-person classroom meetings with the instructor, along with an online course and voucher to take the certification exam from the official certification providers. With the wrapper courses, we do not just prepare you for exams; we build a support structure for you to pass and apply them in your future career.

Cybersecurity is an ever-growing field with opportunities in a variety of areas across many disciplines, and it is one of the technical fields where AI acts as a force multiplier. You will understand not just how systems work, but why they are designed that specific way. Depending on your career aspirations, you can choose from electives in criminal justice, secure software development, cloud infrastructure, and more. Academic and industry mentors will help you navigate the cybersecurity landscape. For some common examples of cybersecurity careers, you can navigate to cyberseek.org

**When you pass the ISC2 CISSP exam, you become ISC2 Associate, demonstrating advanced, industry-recognized mastery of security leadership and risk management. You will be able to acquire the full certification once you complete the required five years of professional experience.

Internships

The Computer Science and Math Department (that is where the cybersecurity major is housed) and the Office of Career Education prepare students to participate in internships to integrate their classroom work with real-world experience.

Bachelor of Science Requirements

The B.S. curriculum includes, in addition to the Arcadia Undergraduate Curriculum requirements. To view how these courses align with a 4-year plan, please refer to the Major Maps.

One Ethics Course

One Capstone Course

Four Electives from the Following List

At least one of the electives must be 300-level. Any Computer Science (CS) course (except 100-level courses) can also count as an elective, and the following CS courses are recommended.

Cybersecurity applies to any CS course. Hence, all 200-, 300-, and 400-level 4-credit CS courses that are not included in the above requirements are considered electives. Talk to your advisor to tailor your electives to your future career.
