FA 291 Sculpture I (4 Credits) Students will investigate, analyze, and apply contemporary approaches to sculpture and three-dimensional form. Framing sculpture as a powerful mode of communication, the course emphasizes the development of an individual artistic voice through the creation of at least five major works over the semester. Content is delivered through a combination of material demonstrations, slide lectures, and group discussions, supporting both conceptual and technical growth. Emphasizing hands-on learning, students engage in sustained experimentation with diverse materials and processes as they develop their projects. This course fulfills the Visual Literacy requirement in the Arcadia University Curriculum.
Prerequisite: FA 103 or FA 104 for art majors. No prerequisite for non-art majors.
