ID 330 Inside Out

(4 Credits)
This unique online course is affiliated with the international Inside/Out Prison Exchange Program. The majority of the class meetings will take place on Zoom. In this class, students have the opportunity to learn about the power of stories and how they shape our lives, particularly in the criminal justice system. Arcadia students will meet weekly on Zoom with students who are currently incarcerated at the Philadelphia County Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility and with students who were formerly incarcerated but now live out in the community. This is the only class in the global Inside-Out program where college students, incarcerated students, and formerly incarcerated students take class together. Students will discuss readings and videos and work on projects as they hear the stories of people who are currently experiencing or have experienced incarceration..

To participate in this course, Arcadia students must be willing to abide by the rules and procedures of the Philadelphia Department of Prisons and the Inside/Out program.

Note: Enrollment in the course is by permission of the Arcadia Inside/Out program coordinator only.
