CJ 295 Hate Crimes


(4 Credits)
This course provides an overview of hate crimes occurring within the United States.  Additionally, this course will examine the dynamics that cause hate crimes and the consequences of these events among victims and their communities. Moreover, the course will also explore the characteristics of hate crime offenders and the criminal justice response to these crimes. Lastly, the course will provide students with an international perspective by exploring hate crimes occurring in other countries (i.e. Australia, Spain, South Africa, and the United Kingdom).
