EN 368 Tell It Slant: Memoir Writing Workshop

(4 Credits)
The word “memoir” literally means to remember in French, but it has morphed into one of the most popular literary genres today. The course primarily is concerned with carefully crafted literary memoirs. Some questions that will be considered are: What is the difference between memoir and autobiography? What are the ethics involved on writing a memoir? What elements (dialogue, scene, description) go into crafting a memoir? How truthful is memoir? How do experienced writers render their memoirs?

Prerequisite: Junior standing or above.
