CJ 230 Drugs and Society


(4 Credits)
This course addresses different explanations of drug use and addiction.  It also examines the connection between drugs and crime, while drawing on prevailing issues related to the war on drugs. Students will consider aspects and consequences of drug policing, prosecution, and sentencing, both in the United States and globally. Students will also explore alternative drug policies, including public health approaches, alternatives to incarceration, and harm reduction.
