About the Minor
Open to all majors. The minor in Scientific Illustration introduces students to the techniques and methods of scientific illustration. This minor offers students hands-on learning in a well-respected, innovative biology department and comprehensive studio art courses covering traditional and digital illustration techniques. Art majors who complete the minor in Scientific Illustration will enjoy diversifying their art portfolios. Science majors who complete this minor will enjoy producing more competent illustrations in conjunction with their scientific research and an ability to visualize scientific concepts and subject matter enhances graduate school applications, augments their efficiency as researchers, and increases their effectiveness as instructors.
Requirements
The minor requires 22 credits. Students who want to minor in Scientific Illustration should consult with the Department Chair.
Please note: Students majoring in Scientific Illustration are ineligible to minor in Scientific Illustrations; 50% of the courses representing the minor must be completed in the Department of Art & Design at Arcadia University.
