The proposed program will be unique in providing flexible options for students by using the extensive collection of pre-recorded didactic content that can be delivered online. This model provides opportunities for international students taking coursework in their home country or asynchronous instruction for a master’s student with work or family commitments that would normally restrict their ability to successfully complete coursework. In addition, the content is a subset of the 1st year curriculum on a traditional DPT student so that a student has an exit path leading to a degree if they decide for academic or personal reasons to leave the DPT program. It also is possible to use the MS Rehabilitation Science as a preparatory degree of a physical therapy or related graduate program. For students planning a career change to physical therapy or other rehabilitation role, it would provide a way to efficiently meet most if not all pre-requisite requirements without the piece-meal approach of various courses.
