ESL Program Specialist K-12, Graduate Certificate

About the Program

Teaching English as a second language in Pennsylvania requires the Program Specialist: ESL certificate.

English as a Second Language teacher certification is a Pennsylvania add-on certificate available to students who currently possess a Pennsylvania Instructional I or Instructional II teaching certificate.  Each course in the program has embedded 12 hours of required field experience. 
 

Requirements

• ED 622 ESL: Teaching Multilingual and Multicultural Literacies (3 credits)
• ED 623 ESL Multilingual and Multicultural Assessments (3 credits)
• ED 624 ESL: Understanding Language Learning (3 credits)
• ED 625 ESL: Language, Diversity and Schooling (3 credits)
• ED 629 Theory and Practice of TESOL (3 credits)
