GC 506 Topics in Human Genetics

3 credits
Genetics is a rapidly changing field. An effective genetic counselor must be able to identify and critique current research. He or she must also be able to present complex information to patients and to peers. This required course will develop students’ abilities to evaluate and present information. In addition, students will learn how a research proposal is developed, written, and evaluated. This proposal will set the stage for the thesis research performed in the second year.
