CM 489 Independent Study in Communication
(4 Credits)
This course is in-depth research on an individually defined scholarly project. It should address specific interests of students in analytical, critical, and academic study of a topic. A final paper of high quality is required. It may be taken for substantive production exercise in video with an emphasis on analytical presentation. It is designed to enlarge a student’s learning experience. Only one Independent Study is allowed during study at Arcadia. Some of the topics covered in the past: “Organizations as Cultural Systems,” “Semiotics of Photography”, and a documentary on the Immigrant Experience of the Vietnamese.
Prerequisite: Permission of the instructor and the Department Chair.
