CHS 600 Introduction to Healthcare Management and Leadership

3 credits
Prerequisite: This course is a seven (7) week intensive course designed to introduce clinical professionals in the healthcare sector to the concepts of operations management, communication, and leadership.  The content will cover healthcare delivery systems, human resource management, marketing, leadership, organizational leadership, financial resource management, and strategic planning.  Each week, the student will spend approximately two (2) hours viewing theory and modules/videos. An additional three (3) hours per week will be used to participate in reflective responses, discussion boards, and applications/projects.  Finally, there will be a 90 minute “live” session each week with content experts.

The learner will be introduced to the theories and didactic concepts and have access to content experts to engage in real life scenarios and work through practical solutions.
