BI 355 Field Biology This is a semester-long in-depth exploration of a specific, unique ecosystem followed by a 7 to 10 day trip involving field work in the ecosystem being studied. Class will meet for a minimum of one hour per week, and will include lecture and discussion. The travel portion will take place during Winter break,Spring break, or immediately following Commencement. Students may be required to perform strenuous physical activity, such as hiking and swimming, for some aspects of the field investigation. This course may be taken more than once, but students may use the course only once to count towards one of the four 300-level biology courses required for the biology major.
Prerequisite: BI101 and 102; additional prerequisites may apply depending on the background required for the course.
