ED 610 Seminar in Children’s Literature (3 credits) Designed for elementary and middle/junior high school educators this course discusses: 1) trends and issues in children’s and young adult literature and multi-modal texts; 2) ways to receive and interpret information from children on how they respond to the literature; 3) literary theories and ways to utilize this information in designing lessons and units in children’s literature. Students will also be engaged in investigations of the uses of multi-modal texts and digital media in literacy instruction.
