ED 226 Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment (3 credits) Why do we teach? Who do we teach? What do we teach? How do we teach? Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment in Education (CIA), will provide future educators with a strong pedagogical foundation necessary to design and implement instruction for middle and secondary classrooms. Through coursework and fieldwork classroom observations, students will engage in critical inquiry, practice, and reflection. By the end of the course, the students will develop a teaching philosophy, a unit of study and assessment, and write and deliver a lesson plan. In addition, students will develop and practice research-based educational strategies.
